Gary Dahl, the inventor of the "Pet Rock"

Gary Dahl is my guru. This genius advertiser became a millionair by selling tons of his "pet rocks". For $3.95, consumers got in a box a little rock with a user guide explaining how to take care of this pet: for example how to distinguish an ill pet rock from a healthy one (on the picture you just see two identical rocks!).

Hi Diana,

Would you know how to get in contact with Gary Dahl?

I wrote a book in 1993 (California Bar Tricks) that was illustrated by Stan Stevenson. Stan claimed he was around Gary when he came up with the concept of the Pet Rock.

I have an idea for a re-release of The Pet Rock I would like to pass it by Mr. Dahl.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

My home email is jr2010@comcast.net and my business number is 1-800-242-4089.

All the best,

Jim Rosenbaum

P.S. if you google me you will see my latest magic trick invention.

Dear Jim,

Wow! I am thrilled to see your pet rock revival in the shops :D

You might want to contact Gary Dahl via his publisher J. Wiley (see ' Advertising for Dummies').

I wish you good luck with your fantastic project!
